Vintage Charm Meets Modern Adventure: The Suzuki Jimny Gets a Retro Makeover
The Suzuki Jimny has always been a blank canvas for customization, and Japan’s Cal’s Motors (a branch of Alpine Style) just unveiled their coolest transformation yet—a five-door Jimny dressed in classic American SUV style. Meet the Beas+ L, a body kit that blends the rugged nostalgia of old-school rides like the Chevy K5 Blazer with the Jimny’s compact, go-anywhere spirit.
A Throwback to Iconic Off-Roaders
Based on the five-door Jimny Nomade (sold in Japan), the Beas+ L builds on Cal’s Motors’ earlier kits for the three-door model, but with even more retro flair. The standout upgrades include:
A chrome grille with boxy LED headlights and standalone turn signals
A chunky new front bumper with relocated fog lights, swapping the Suzuki logo for Cal’s Motors badging
Classic round LED taillights set into a custom chrome rear bumper (goodbye, stock rectangles!)
Optional Moon Chrome wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, plus a redesigned spare tire cover for extra style
The demo model rocks a sleek Orca Black Pearl 2 paint job, but more colors are likely on the way. Inside, you can deck it out with premium faux-leather seats, custom floor mats, a 7-inch Alpine touchscreen, upgraded speakers, and even a digital rearview mirror.
Same Tough Heart, Bolder Attitude
Under the hood, it’s still the same trusty Jimny—1.5L four-cylinder engine (103 hp), with your choice of a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. But if you want a more commanding presence, an optional lift kit gives it extra height and a meaner stance.
The Price of Cool
This retro reboot doesn’t come cheap: Pricing starts at ¥3,740,000 (~$25,200), a big jump over the base Jimny Nomade (¥2,651,000 / ~$17,900). And good luck finding one—demand in Japan is sky-high, so donor vehicles are scarce. If you prefer the three-door Jimny, the Beas+ kit starts at ¥3,080,000 (~$20,700).
Whether you’re a vintage SUV fan or just love the Jimny’s endless customization potential, the Beas+ L proves that sometimes, the coolest rides take a little inspiration from the past. 🚗💨
